Filipino-American singer and actress H.E.R. showed off her love for OPM after singing the classic “Maging Sino Ka Man” during a karaoke session at New York-based Filipino restaurant, Kalye.

The restaurant shared a video on Instagram of the singer performing the beloved Rey Valera/Sharon Cuneta hit during its karaoke event, Kalyeoke. H.E.R. confidently sang the song and even invited fellow diners to join her, drawing cheers from the crowd.

“When @hermusicofficial makes a special guest appearance at Kalyeoke,” Kalye wrote in the caption, while also tagging Sharon Cuneta, whose rendition remains one of the song's most iconic versions. The performance also caught the attention of Sharon's daughter, actress and singer KC Concepcion, who posted "Awww!" while tagging H.E.R. and adding several sparkle emojis.

"Maging Sino Ka Man" was first recorded by Rey Valera in 1979. In 1991, Cuneta released her own version, which became the theme song of her movie of the same title opposite Robin Padilla.

Born Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson, H.E.R. adopted her stage name— short for Having Everything Revealed— as her career began to flourish. The award-winning singer is proudly Filipino-American, with her mother being from Nueva Ecija.

The 27-year-old has earned 25 Grammy nominations throughout her career, winning five awards including the Grammy for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance for "Fight For You." The song was featured in the 2021 film “Judas and the Black Messiah” and also earned her an Academy Award for Best Original Song.

Her hits include “Come Through,” “Slide,” “Focus,” “Damage,” Could've Been,” and “Best Part,” her collaboration with Daniel Caesar.

H.E.R. is also lending her voice and music to the upcoming DreamWorks animated film “Forgotten Island,” which opens in Philippine cinemas on September 23.

She will voice one of the lead characters alongside Liza Soberano, with Lea Salonga, Dolly de Leon, and Filipino-American actors Manny Jacinto and Jo Koy rounding out the cast.

The film's soundtrack will also showcase songs by H.E.R. alongside music from other Filipino artists.
