Former 'PBB' housemates form love triangle in 'The Way Back to You'

Viu Philippines recently announced a new romance series, “The Way Back To You,” starring former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemates AZ Martinez, Ralph De Leon, and Michael Sager.

The upcoming rom-com will center on a love triangle involving Julia (AZ), Tristan (Ralph), and Patrick (Michael).

To give fans an early glimpse of the project, Viu Philippines unveiled exclusive first-look images of the three actors, along with a video featuring them beside a plushie carrying the Viu logo.

“Are you ready for a feel-good that'll have you looking back, feeling the kilig, and falling all over again?” the streaming platform teased in its announcement.

The casting news quickly got fans talking, particularly supporters of AzRalph and MicZ, the fan pairing of AZ and Michael. Both fandoms shared their excitement in the comments following the announcement.

The three leads will also be joined by fellow PBB alums Marco Masa and Ashley Sarmiento.

“The Way Back To You” will be directed by JP Habac, known for films such as “I’m Drunk, I Love You” and MarJo’s “Ex Ex Lovers,” as well as for co-directing the youth-oriented romance “You’re My Favorite Song,” which starred CapEath (Caprice Cayetano and Heath Jornales). Production is reportedly set to begin next month, with the series targeting a fourth-quarter premiere on Viu.

The series marks the first time AZ, Ralph, and Michael will work together on the same project since their stint as housemates last year on “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition.”

They have, however, already shared the screen in previous projects: AZ and Ralph appeared together in “The Secrets of Hotel 88,” while AZ and Michael starred in the digital short film “Opposites Almost Attract.”
