Everything is now in place for “The Notebook: The Musical,” as Filipino-Kiwi theater actor Laurence Mossman has been officially cast as Middle Noah.
His casting completes the production’s principal actors, following earlier announcements of Young Noah and both Young and Middle Allie. He will star alongside Filipino singer-songwriter Morissette Amon, who plays Middle Allie.
Theater Group Asia confirmed the casting, officially introducing Mossman as Middle Noah for the international premiere in Manila.
Described by the production as “a proud Filipino-Kiwi performer whose talent has captivated audiences worldwide,” Mossman, 35, brings a strong theater background that supports his casting in the role.
He is best known for his performance in the International tour of “Miss Saigon", where he played Thuy. His other stage credits include “Kinky Boots” (Charlie Price), “Fun Home” with Lea Salonga, “Mamma Mia!,” and “A Christmas Carol,” among others.
Born in New Zealand and currently based in London, Mossman graduated with a First-Class Honours degree in Music.
Mossman showcased his vocal talent by performing the full song “Leave the Light On” from "The Notebook: The Musical," with music and lyrics by Ingrid Michaelson.
Messages congratulating him poured in from friends and co-stars, including Sheena Belarmino, Carla Guevara, and Morissette Amon, who reacted with celebratory emojis. Mossman responded warmly to Morissette, calling her a “superstar” and expressing excitement to work with her and see her shine in the musical.
Benedix Ramos, who will play Young Noah, also commented, “Finally!! NOAH!” Mossman replied in jest, “hey it’s me only younger and more Gwapo! Excited to get to work with you brother.”
“The Notebook: The Musical” is based on Nicholas Sparks’ 1996 novel, which was also adapted into a 2004 film starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams. The international premiere of "The Notebook: The Musical" will be staged this September at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater in Circuit Makati.
