Chinese-Filipino actor Ken Chan surprised his followers after making his first noticeable Facebook update in a while. The actor recently returned to the social media platform with a brief post containing only a waving hand emoji, which could be interpreted as a simple greeting.
Although the update came without any caption or explanation, it quickly caught the attention of his followers, with thousands reacting, commenting, and sharing the post.
Fans filled the comments section with heart emojis, greetings, and words of encouragement. Many expressed their happiness at seeing him post again, while others wished him well.
Chan later added a comment of his own, posting only a heart emoji and a smiling face emoji, which also received reactions from fans.
The actor, who has kept a low profile since being linked to a syndicated estafa case, did not share any details about his personal life or future plans. Instead, he kept the update simple, allowing supporters to continue leaving positive messages in the comments.
Some netizens, however, also brought up Chan’s long-running legal issues. They speculated about whether he had already settled the alleged ₱14-million investment scam involving his restaurant, Café Claus, fulfilled his obligations, or reached a resolution regarding the syndicated estafa case that led to warrants of arrest being issued against him in 2024. Chan has previously denied the allegations filed against him.
Despite the renewed discussions surrounding the case, the actor did not provide any explanation or additional statement about the matter.
He also changed his cover photo in Facebook and a news article about himself on Facebook, simply reposting it with a smiling face with hearts emoji and the caption, "admin A." The post appeared to confirm that someone manages his account. Others left comments encouraging him to return, such as “Balik ka na” and “Looking forward na next news, babalik ka na sa acting era mo, Ken Chan.”
Chan has been away from Philippine showbiz since the case surfaced, with previous reports stating that he left the country before authorities could serve the warrants.
