Fanboy Ed Sheeran collabs with KATSEYE for 'Animal'

Ed Sheeran’s admiration for KATSEYE has turned into a musical collaboration, with the singer-songwriter revealing that he co-wrote the group’s new single, “Animal.”

A few days after the track was released, the Grammy-winning artist shared a behind-the-scenes studio video on Instagram, where he opened up about how the collaboration came together.

“I heard @katseyeworld’s song Gnarly last year when I was in Mexico and loved it,” Sheeran wrote. “Said I was a fan and reached out to them to see if I could write them a song. We’ve created Animal together, go check it out gang and hope you all love it.”

The video shows Sheeran singing several lines from the song’s pre-chorus and chorus before explaining the lyrics' meaning to people in the studio.

“As in like, this is the only time that people ever see this side of you that I see,” he explained. It also features the KATSEYE members recording their vocals during the sessions.

KATSEYE released “Animal” on Friday, July 24, with an accompanying music video, which features a special appearance from American actress Demi Moore. 

“Animal” and “Pinky Up” will appear on KATSEYE’s upcoming EP, “WILD,” which is set for release on August 14. 

KATSEYE is also preparing for the release of “KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS” on August 12, a film described as a love letter to their fans, EYEKONS.

Meanwhile, Sheeran is set to resume the North American leg of his “LOOP Tour” on August 1 with a stop in Seattle, United States.
