Enrique Gil, Andrea Brillantes’ “A Secret in Prague” now number one series on Netflix PH

Four days after its release, “A Secret in Prague” is now the number one show on Netflix.

The romance thriller starring Enrique Gil and Andrea Brillantes quickly entered the platform's Top 10 TV series two days after it dropped.

Enrique, 34, and Andrea, 23, take on roles distinct from their previous characters. Enrique portrays Michael “Mikoy” D. Pinagpala, a waiter who falls in love with Chiara Valtrovi (Brillantes), a wealthy heiress who is half-Filipino and half-Czech. 

As their relationship deepens, Mikoy discovers that Chiara’s family harbors dark secrets that could endanger his own.  

Some scenes were filmed on location in Prague, Czech Republic. This project marks Enrique Gil’s return to primetime television after his 2020 romance series “Make It with You" alongside Liza Soberano, while Andrea Brillantes returns after the 2024 series “High Street.”

In addition to their pairing, the series also highlights Kim Domingo and Cedrick Juan as secret agents Alex and Sianong.

"A Secret in Prague" also include cast members Mark Ian Garcia, Arlene Muhlach, K Brosas, Edu Manzano, and Ruben Maria Soriquez. 

Cast members like Benjie Paras, Joel Torre, and Queenay Mercado have not yet appeared in the series. Their characters are expected to be introduced in upcoming episodes.

As of now, only four episodes are available out of a total of 115, with new episodes released from Friday to Tuesday. The show has also begun airing on TV5 on April 27.

Meanwhile, the Filipino romance-drama 18th Rose, starring Xyriel Manabat and Kyle Echarri, is also in Netflix's Top 10 Movies following its release on April 9.
