Ellen Adarna gets playful with John Lloyd’s ‘sustento’ for son

Ellen Adarna recently shared on Instagram a video of herself being slapped with a wad of cash and asked her followers to come up with their funniest captions. “Drop your best [caption] below. May the most unhinged caption win,” she wrote.

The post even prompted one follower to joke about a possible “boyfriend reveal,” but Ellen was quick to clarify that she didn’t have a new boyfriend.

According to Ellen,  the cash was the monthly child support of John Lloyd Cruz for Elias, his son with Ellen.  “Monthly sustento to ni JL sa anak niya ahahha. Ginawa ko na lang play time ahahaha. Wala akong boyfriend noh! Please lang,” she wrote.

Based on the video, the wad appeared to amount to hundreds of thousands of pesos. Her followers also played along, with some leaving comments such as, “sinampal pero ginalingan” and “Ganitong sampal ang gusto ko.”

Ellen has previously opened up about how she and John Lloyd share responsibilities as co-parents. She once shared that Elias’ basic monthly needs usually amount to around ₱10,000 at most. The actor often insists on doubling the amount, although Ellen prefers to keep their contributions as parents balanced.

The former couple have continued to co-parent their 8-year-old son, Elias. 

Last June, Ellen went on a Boracay trip with John Lloyd and his partner, visual artist Isabel Santos, and Elias. Other family members joined them as well, including Ellen’s daughter, Lili, whom she shares with her ex-husband, actor Derek Ramsay.
