Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado’s manager, Becky Aguila, spoke out following Patrick Garcia’s interview with Ogie Diaz, where Patrick discussed his past relationship with Jennylyn, their breakup, and issues involving their son, Alex Jazz.

“Hindi ako pabor sa bashing, pero salamat at naalala mo si Jazz dahil sa pag bash sa anak mo,” Dennis wrote. “Spread love, not hate,” he added.

Aguila, for her part, took to her personal account to address Patrick, emphasizing that she was speaking not only as Jennylyn’s manager but as her “second mom.”

She questioned Patrick’s decision to discuss the matter publicly, saying he could have reached out to her instead.

“Why did you have to resort to an interview? Kahit wala na si Tita Lydia, andito pa naman ako. Ayokong makasakit at makasira ng image pero nasasaktan ako for Jen. Sa dami ng pagkukulang mo kay Jen lalo na kay Jazz, mas inintindi mo pa magpa interview to protect your daughter from bashers at the expense of Jen and Jazz.”

Aguila also reminded Patrick that Jennylyn is the mother of his child and said she could have helped address his concerns privately.

“May concerns ka pala sana nag reach out ka na lang sa akin at maayos natin nailatag to with Jen and Dennis at madali naman sila kausap.”

Aguila said there were many things Patrick had done that hurt Jennylyn, but the actress chose not to publicly discuss them out of respect for him, his family, and their son.

“Pero lahat yun naalala ko. Pasensya na Patrick pero yung truth mo maraming kulang at dagdag. I hope nakatulong nga ito sa daughter mo. And hopefully you are satisfied with all the things you've done.”

During his interview with Ogie, Patrick, 45, explained that he decided to speak up because of the bashing his daughter, Michelle, has been receiving online.

Michelle, who is undergoing K-pop training in Singapore, has been facing negative comments tied to Patrick’s past with Jennylyn. Patrick said his decision was also prompted by a conversation with his 13-year-old daughter.

“Actually, one day, my daughter, si Michelle, went up to me and said, 'Daddy, I'm sad. Because every time there's good news about me, in the comment section, it's all bashing, and they're bashing me because of you,'” he recalled.

While Patrick said he wanted to protect his daughter, he acknowledged that speaking publicly does not guarantee that the bashing or negative comments will stop.

Apart from explaining why he decided to speak up, Patrick also discussed his role as a father, saying that he loves all of his children equally.

“When it comes to fatherhood, I love all my children equally. Lahat sila mahal ko including Jazz,” he said.

Patrick was also grateful to Dennis for serving as a father figure to Jazz, whom Dennis has co-parented for several years, while saying he has not seen his eldest son since 2017.

Jennylyn’s agency later addressed the interview on her behalf, saying the actress will not be entertaining interviews about the issue moving forward.

“Everyone is entitled to share their story on whatever platform they choose. In this case, Jennylyn would rather not share her side of the story out of respect for the privacy and peace of mind of both her family and Patrick’s,” Aguila Entertainment stated.

The agency also asked the public to stop directing hate or bashing toward Patrick’s family, particularly his daughter, Michelle.

Patrick and Jennylyn were in a relationship until 2008. Their son Jazz was born in the same year. Patrick married his non-showbiz wife, Nikka Martinez, in 2015. They have four children.

Jennylyn and Dennis married in November 2021 and welcomed their daughter, Dylan, the following year.
