David Licauco, Ashtine Olviga star in PH remake of ‘Fight for My Way’

Ashtine Olviga and David Licauco are set to star in Viva One’s Philippine adaptation of the hit Korean series “Fight for My Way.”

Viva made the announcement on Monday, Sept. 28,  introducing “Fight for My Way” as its “first Korean series adaptation.” Joining Ashtine and David are Aubrey Caraan as Sally and McCoy De Leon as Manny, who play the second leads.

The upcoming rom-com follows a group of friends as they navigate through their passions, dreams, family, and love while working to achieve the lives they want.

In the Philippine version, Ashtine takes on the role of Aira, high-spirited and fierce, who dreams of becoming a professional television announcer. David plays Hanz: handsome, strong, and a former taekwondo champion.

Aubrey plays Sally, a simple girl with a kind heart, while McCoy takes on the role of Manny, Sally’s longtime boyfriend— a smart and practical guy who is also the brains of the group.

The series is based on the hit 2017 K-drama, which starred Park Seo-joon as Ko Dong-man and Kim Ji-won as Choi Ae-ra.

In the original version, Ae-ra’s adorable baby talk drives Dong-man crazy until he eventually starts doing it himself. Filipino fans will see Ashtine and David's take on this beloved scene.

The project is also the first time Ashtine and David will work together. For Ashtine and Aubrey, however, this will be their second project after starring in "Sunny," another Korean adaptation.

Directed by Crisanto B. Aquino, "Fight for My Way" will stream on Viva One starting November 20.
