Young stars Caprice Cayetano and Heath Jornales are set to hit the big screen in Amir, an upcoming fantasy-drama film selected for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2026 lineup.
The project marks a major career milestone for both 17-year-olds—serving as Cayetano’s MMFF debut and Jornales’ first feature film.
In a promotional photo released by Sparkle GMA Artist Center, Cayetano is seen wearing a hijab, hinting at a Muslim role in the movie.
Both actors turned to social media to celebrate the announcement with their supporters. In an Instagram post, Cayetano reflected on the project’s personal significance, expressing her gratitude to GMA Pictures.
"This film has a special place in my heart. My first MMFF movie. Thank you, GMA Pictures, for this opportunity. Excited na po ako na mapanood niyo ang ‘Amir.’ Pinaghirapan namin ang project na ito,” she shared.
The PBB Collab 2.0 winner also extended her appreciation to her director and co-stars, including veteran actor Dennis Trillo and child actor Argus.
"Napakahusay ng mga nakasama ko at marami akong natutunan na magagamit ko sa mga susunod kong proyekto. Direk Zig, maraming salamat po sa paggabay, isa kang genius pagdating po sa pelikula. Sir Dennis Trillo, it was nice working with you again po. And Argus, congratulations in advance, alam kong malayo ang mararating mo,” Cayetano added.
For Jornales, the project represents a double milestone. Offering fans a teaser of his role, he posted a short and direct caption on his page:
“My first film ‘AMIR’ hits cinema Dec. 25 as part of MMFF 2026. Kitakits po tayo!”
Director Zig Dulay commented on both actors' posts, expressing his eagerness to collaborate with the young talent on future projects.
Meanwhile, fans—including supporters of their onscreen pairing, "CapEath"—flooded the comments with congratulations and anticipation.
Following their onscreen team-up in the television series You’re My Favorite Song, both actors are preparing for separate upcoming projects: Cayetano will star in the drama series A Million Dreams, while Jornales is slated to join the cast of the action-drama series Hari ng Tondo.
