Eve Ridley is taking a big leap in her career as she joins DC Studios’ “Supergirl,” starring alongside Australian actress Milly Alcock.
The 14-year-old will portray Ruthye Marye Knoll in the film based on "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow," the 2022 comic series by Tom King.
This marks her first big-screen role after a growing list of television credits including "3 Body Problem," "Casualty" and "The Witcher." She started her career as a voice actress on the children’s animated series"Peppa Pig."
Ahead of the film’s release, the young actress revealed that she has Filipino roots. Ridley was born in the UK but her mother is half- Filipino.
The story follows Supergirl on a three-day mission to save her dog Krypto, who has been poisoned by Krem. Along the way, she meets Ruthye Marye Knoll, a young alien portrayed by Ridley who is seeking revenge for her father’s murder.
As their journey unfolds, the two form an unlikely alliance while pursuing justice.
In recent promotional content released on the official Supergirl Instagram page, Ridley and Alcock are seen having casual and playful moments together.
The film’s cast also includes Matthias Schoenaerts as the villain Krem, Jason Momoa as Lobo, and David Corenswet as Superman in a cameo role, along with David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham, who play Supergirl’s parents. The film is produced by DC Studios heads Peter Safran and James Gunn, and directed by Craig Gillespie.
Supergirl is scheduled to open in Philippine cinemas on June 24.
