Boy Abunda shows off tennis-inspired outfit for Alex Eala interview

TV host Boy Abunda recently revealed that he has already prepared a tennis-inspired outfit for his interview with Alex Eala  on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda."

During the show's August 12 episode, Boy said he is eager to have Alex as a guest on his show while interviewing Zoren Legazpi. Zoren also talked about the Legazpi family’s history with the tennis star when she was still a child.

Boy shared that he had reached out to Alex’s uncle, Noli Eala, a former sports commissioner and Boy’s friend, to help make the interview happen.

“Mina-manifest ko na talaga. Before the show, tinawagan ko si Noli Eala. Sabi ko, Noli, tulungan mo naman ako,” Boy said.

Apparently, Boy is taking his manifestation seriously as he had already assembled an outfit for the occasion. “Eh nakahanda na ang isusuot kong damit 'pag dumating dito si Alex,” he said. 

He then asked, “Nasaan na ba iyong damit?” before the outfit was brought out on camera. Boy stood up to show off the look and made it clear that he plans to wear it specifically for Alex’s appearance. Boy later gave fans another glimpse of the outfit in an Instagram reel.

The look features white tops with yellow circular details inspired by tennis balls, paired with bright yellow pants. It was designed by Bang Pineda, a fashion stylist and designer who has worked with Filipino celebrities and personalities including Piolo Pascual, Michelle Dee, and P-Pop group BGYO.

Boy also praised Alex’s performance on the court. Beyond her tennis achievements, he said he admires how she has remained grounded and true to herself.

“Hindi nagbabago, iyong Pinoy [accent] na English niya. Pero ang husay mag-Spanish. Tapos matatas sumagot, sa Q&A. Nakakaproud lamang,” he said.

Alex, 21, has a WTA ranking of world number 20. She has become one of the biggest names in tennis, drawing in thousands of spectators in her matches around the world. She recently won her first   WTA Tour singles title, the Washington DC Open.
