YG Entertainment is preparing to debut two new K-pop groups, a five-member boy group and a four-member girl group, as the South Korean agency looks to expand its roster of artists.

YG founder and executive producer Yang Hyun-suk announced the plans in a social media update outlining the company’s upcoming projects.

“We are currently preparing to debut two new groups: a five-member boy group and a four-member girl group,” Yang said. “Alongside TREASURE and BABYMONSTER, these two groups will play an important role in shaping YG's future, and I am personally doing everything I can to ensure they are fully prepared.”

Both rookie groups are expected to record several demo songs by the end of this year. According to Yang, their debut schedules will become clearer once their respective title tracks have been finalized.

Yang also promised another update before the year ends. “I'll be back toward the end of this year with another YG ANNOUNCEMENT video, bringing you more exciting updates and good news,” Yang added.

Meanwhile, BABYMONSTER will release its new digital single, “Deserve,” on October 23. The track will mark the group’s first new release in about four months, following “Sugar Honey Ice Tea.”

Yang described it as a slower-paced song that combines the seven-member group’s delicate vocals with powerful singing, building toward an emotional climax. The group is also aiming to release a new album early next year.

TREASURE, meanwhile, is set to release its digital single “Shock” on November 2. According to Yang, the track will feature a powerful hip-hop sound as the 10-member boy group prepares for a new chapter of activities heading into 2027.

Beyond TREASURE and BABYMONSTER, YG Entertainment also represents global girl group BLACKPINK and several solo artists.

Yang closed his message by thanking fans for their continued support, saying, “To all our fans around the world, thank you from the bottom of my heart for always believing in YG artists and patiently waiting for us.”
