BINI brought P-pop to one of the world's biggest pop culture events with a special live performance during the “Forgotten Island” panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, July 25, in San Diego, California. The Nation's Girl Group performed "A Parallel World," their latest song for DreamWorks Animation's upcoming fantasy film.
The surprise performance, featuring Filipino lyrics, capped off the panel and marked BINI's San Diego Comic-Con debut, making them the first P-pop group to perform at the annual convention. Members Aiah, Colet, Gwen, Maloi, Mikha, Stacey, Sheena, and Jhoanna wowed the crowd as they sang and danced to the soundtrack.
Following the event, BINI shared photos from their Comic-Con appearance on social media. "Thank you for sharing this unforgettable moment with us Forgotten Island Movie and DreamWorks Animation," the group wrote in their post.
The panel also featured “Forgotten Island” stars Liza Soberano, H.E.R., and Dave Franco, alongside directors Januel Mercado and Joel Crawford, who joined the discussion to share more about the highly anticipated film.
"A Parallel World" was first teased during BINI's "Signals" world tour concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in June. The track is part of the film’s official soundtrack, which also features Broadway actress Lea Salonga, KATSEYE member Sophia Laforteza, Filipino-American Grammy winner H.E.R., and Filipino-American actress Liza Soberano.
Prior to their Comic-Con appearance, DreamWorks gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at the collaboration by releasing a video of BINI recording the song in the studio, alongside clips from the film and the group's live performances. "A Parallel World" is now available for streaming on Spotify.
BINI's Comic-Con appearance comes just before the next leg of their "Signals" world tour in the United States, which kicks off on August 1 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
