Bea Borres on reuniting with former boyfriend: It's just for content

Bea Borres recently reunited with her ex-boyfriend, Meray Yamada, for a vlog, making it clear from the start that their appearance together was all about content.

Before Meray appeared in the frame, Bea, 23, explained why she decided to feature him in her video.

“I’m still not co-parenting, okay?” she clarified. “I’m doing this because kailangan kong pumaldo. Ayaw niya kasi magbigay ng pera and ang tagal-tagal ng karma so I’m gonna make my own karma. Pagaawayin natin sila ng babae niya, joke lang,” she said in the video.

Bea said she included Meray because she knew their appearance together could boost engagement and potentially generate income. She also brought up possible future videos involving her ex, including a co-parenting vlog and a lie detector test challenge.

When Meray finally joined her, Bea continued to poke fun at their history.

“Nandidilim na naman ‘yung paningin ko. You know why I’m doing this? Because you don’t want to give me money. Eh malakas ‘yung engagements pag kasama ka eh. Gagatasan na lang kita. You ruined my peace when I was pregnant,” she told him.

Bea also teased Meray about allegedly having other women and joked that their video might make them jealous. Meray, however, denied the claim.

The two continued their banter as Bea had him taste the cake she had baked. Even though he was on a diet, she still gave him several spoonfuls.

The unexpected reunion quickly went viral, with the video surpassing 7.9 million views on Facebook and receiving hundreds of thousands of reactions, along with thousands of comments.

Meray admitted that he was surprised by the reunion and had no idea what Bea had planned. Bea then revealed that she had intentionally kept the vlog’s concept from him so he would not have the chance to turn it down.

“Pag kumita ‘to, gagatasan kita because you don’t want to give me money,” she said, once again joking about turning their interaction into more content.

“We’re not co-parenting and I’m still not going to co-parent with you after this... for the video lang. Know your place,” she added.

Bea eventually brought their daughter, Victoria Hope, whom she fondly calls Hopea, into the interaction. The three briefly appeared together and smiled at the camera. She then asked her followers if they wanted to see more videos featuring her and Meray.

The reunion naturally drew mixed reactions from viewers. Some found their tit for tat entertaining and admitted feeling “kilig” seeing the former couple together again. Others, however, felt that Bea should not have collaborated with Meray given their past.

Among those who did not share the excitement was Bea’s close friend, Andrea Brillantes, who commented on the TikTok post.

“Lahat kayo kinikilig, pwes ako hindi,” Andrea emphasized.

The actress and content creator later addressed the criticism and defended her decision, saying that she was simply trying to hustle and make money through her own content.

“Why are you guys mad at me!! At least i’m not accepting online sugal, mag clout chase nalang ako it’s my content, just block me nalang if u think i’m tanga!!” she wrote.

“If i promote sugal diba you’ll bash me rin naman, go kanya kanya na tong hustle hahaha,” she added.

Bea shared another video showing herself and their daughter watching Meray play in a basketball game. Despite the chemistry that fans continued to gush over, Bea once again stressed that their interactions were purely for content.

“Gatasan lang promise,” she stated. In casual or slang conversation in Tagalog, “gatasan” or to milk means getting money or resources repeatedly from someone or something.

Bea revealed that she and Meray had broken up before she publicly announced her pregnancy through her vlog in August last year. That same month, she revealed that she was expecting a baby girl.

Bea and Meray share one child. Bea has previously spoken about raising her daughter on her own.
