Bad Bunny joins 'Toy Story' universe as Pizza with Sunglasses

Yee-haw! There’s a new toy in town: Bad Bunny is officially joining as a bespectacled pizza slice in “Toy Story 5.” 

Disney confirmed on Tuesday, May 26, the casting of the Puerto Rican singer as the voice of a new character named Pizza with Sunglasses, who obviously looks like a slice of pizza wearing shades. 

The character is described as “effortlessly cool and mysterious” and part of a small group of forgotten toys living in an abandoned backyard shed.

This marks Bad Bunny’s first voice-acting role, although he has long been a fan of "Toy Story." Videos he posted online shows him playing and improvising skits with "Toy Story" toys.

First and foremost a singer, the multi-platinum global artist and six-time GRAMMY Award winner has also built a growing acting resumé, with supporting roles in films like "Bullet Train," "Caught Stealing," and "Cassandro."

In "Toy Story 5," Bad Bunny joins a cast that includes returning favorites Tom Hanks (Woody), Tim Allen (Buzz Lightyear), Joan Cusack (Jessie), and Wallace Shawn (Rex). 

The film also adds several new voices: Conan O’Brien as Smarty Pants, Craig Robinson as Atlas, Scarlett Spears as Bonnie, and Greta Lee as Lilypad, the main antagonist. 

Lilypad is a smart tablet who believes she knows what’s best for Bonnie but, instead, poses a threat to the traditional world of toys. Alan Cumming also makes a cameo as Evil Bullseye, a playful “alter ego” version of Bullseye.

"Toy Story 5" continues the franchise’s “toy meets tech” theme, with Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of the gang facing new challenges as Bonnie’s world changes. The film is set to arrive in Philippine cinemas on June 17.
