“Bongga Ka ‘Day!” lead star Atasha Muhlach has always wanted to be in showbiz. During her guest appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” she said entering it was her childhood wish.

Despite pursuing a business degree, Atasha, 24, explained that she chose the field because it would allow her to put structure into her creativity.

"Ang pangarap ko actually, it was just enter showbiz. Ever since. So, the reason why I took business is because it allows me to put structure into my creativity because growing up I've always been a very creative person," Atasha shared.

Atasha was always drawn to the arts, participating in school plays, drawing, and playing music.

“So, ever since, being surrounded with a showbiz family, it was kind of my natural environment in a way,” she added.

Atasha is also open to exploring different opportunities in the entertainment industry, whether in singing, dancing, or acting. “I want to do everything. I don't want to close my doors to anything,” she said.

True to her word, Atasha has explored various aspects of showbiz since starting her career, including television, hosting, endorsements, brand ambassadorships, and theater acting.

Her parents, veteran actor Aga Muhlach and former beauty queen and actress Charlene Gonzales, have also been supportive of her dream. Atasha said they never discouraged her from entering showbiz, especially since she had expressed her desire to pursue it from a young age.

“They kind of understood na ‘she's going to enter [showbiz].’ Because I asked when I was a kid,” she said. However, they wanted her to finish her education first, a condition she gladly agreed to.

“That is a promise that I'm very very grateful for because I promised to them that I would finish my education before entering showbiz,” she added.

Atasha fulfilled that promise in 2023 when she graduated with honors in business from Nottingham Trent University in England, United Kingdom. She was chosen to deliver the thank you speech on behalf of her graduating class.

Now 24, Atasha is focusing on theater, playing the titular role in “Bongga Ka ‘Day!” alongside rising talents and veteran theater actors. The musical opened on September 18 and will run until October 24.
