Apple David warns bashers as backlash on Chad Gammad romance continues

PBA courtside reporter Apple David has warned online commenters and bashers of possible legal action as criticism continues over her relationship with 18-year-old college basketball player Chad Gammad.

On Facebook last Monday, August 10, David shared a photo of herself with the caption, “Papunta na tayo sa exciting part,” along with lawyer and balance scale emojis.

“I already said it before that everyone on social media, personal or dump account are covered by the law and can be traced,” she wrote.

“Too late to delete comments now. I’ll see some of you guys soon,” David continued, adding a side-eye emoji. “Keep safe everyone!”

About a day later, however, David edited the caption of the post. The updated version now reads: “Thank you for the engagement guys! Heard your comments. All of them are appreciated and noted. Keep safe everyone! All love.”

David, 33, did not specify which comments or commenters she was referring to. Her warning came amid the backlash surrounding her relationship with NCAA basketball player, which was publicly confirmed in May. Some social media users have even accused her of “grooming.”

The sports personality has previously addressed the criticism, including questions and negative comments about her relationship with the much younger Gammad during her TikTok live sessions. 

Many online users continue to raise questions about the couple’s 15-year age gap and the timeline of their relationship. David, for her part, has repeatedly denied the allegations and defended the circumstances surrounding their relationship.

Gammad, meanwhile, has publicly supported David and defended her against critics. In one comment, he hit back at a critic, writing, “Mag isip-isip naman kayo bago kayo mag-comment o baka may sira talaga sa utak n'yo. Wala naman ginawang masama si Apple sa inyo ba’t ganun kayo kabilis mag-bash tapos [sasabihin] niyo na naman na si Apple nag-comment neto.”

In another post, Gammad wrote, “Basher, enabler, I'll still be with her, Lakers in 5,” alongside a photo of himself with David.
