Angelu de Leon, Bobby Andrews, 'T.G.I.S.' cast reunite in Netflix’s ‘Paskong Pinoy’

Angelu de Leon and several cast members of the hit 1990s youth series “T.G.I.S.” are reuniting for Netflix Philippines’ upcoming holiday anthology “Paskong Pinoy.”

The "T.G.I.S." cast will star in the episode “The Last New Year in Boracay,” with Angelu joining Bobby Andrews, Rica Peralejo, Polo Ravales, Michael Flores, Ciara Sotto, and Bernadette Allyson.

The actress and Pasig City councilor announced the reunion on Facebook on Thursday, August 20. In her post, Angelu also paid tribute to her late co-star Red Sternberg, who will reportedly still be part of the reunion in some way.

“Red I'm sure happy ka,” her caption began. Sternberg rose to fame after joining “T.G.I.S.” He passed away in May 2025.

“Abangan ngayong December sa Netflix, mga ka-Batang 90s! Ang reunion na matagal nating hinihintay… nangyari na!”

“Nostalgia is coming! Handa na ba kayo?” she teased.

The upcoming Netflix show brings together several familiar faces from “T.G.I.S.,” short for Thank God It’s Sabado. The series became influential in defining 90s Filipino pop culture.

Angelu and Bobby Andrews also became one of the Philippines’ most popular onscreen partners. Their pairing continued in the "T.G.I.S." sequel, “Growing Up.”

The reunion is also a homecoming of sorts for director Marciano "Mark" Reyes, who helmed the original “T.G.I.S.” series and is also directing “Paskong Pinoy.” The four-part anthology aims to showcase holiday stories rooted in Filipino traditions, nostalgia, and other distinctly Filipino Christmas experiences.

Another episode, titled “The Perfect Christmas,” will feature Barbie Forteza and Enchong Dee as a pair.

"Paskong Pinoy" is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on December 3. It is one of five Netflix Philippines originals slated for release this year.
