Alice in Borderland's Ayaka Miyoshi to make Korean debut in ‘Tazza 4’

Japanese actress Ayaka Miyoshi, widely known for her role in Netflix’s “Alice in Borderland,” makes her first Korean film  in “Tazza 4: The Song of Beelzebub.” The crime thriller will be released this September.

Directed by Korean filmmaker Choi Kook Hee, the film follows a tense revenge story involving two former best friends and business partners, played by Korean actors Byun Yo-han and Roh Jae-won.

Miyoshi plays Kaneko, a general director at a Japanese company with ties to the Yakuza. Her character becomes involved in a massive international gambling scheme where she plays a key role in shaping the high-stakes game.

Miyoshi manages to make her character comes across as classy and elegant, but also sharp and highly calculating. Kaneko uses her wits and judgment to influence the direction of the dangerous game and the people caught in it.

According to Soompi, director Choi personally chose Miyoshi for the role after being impressed by her strong presence in the Japanese sci-fi thriller series “Alice in Borderland” Season 2.

Miyoshi also put significant effort into preparing for the role. She learned how to play poker herself to better portray Kaneko and even helped her co-star Roh Jae-won with his Japanese dialogue.

The actress has spoken warmly about her experience on the Korean production, praising the cast and crew for making her feel welcome and creating a supportive atmosphere on set.
