Venezuela, Barbados seek to strengthen regional cooperation

Venezuelan interim President Delcy Rodriguez and Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley on Monday (April 27) discussed energy cooperation, including joint renewable energy manufacturing and Venezuelan oil and gas investment opportunities, at an event in Bridgetown.

Beyond traditional cooperation on hydrocarbons, the nations are exploring collaboration on the development of renewable energies, including solar panels and wind-generated energy.

This is Rodriguez’s first official visit to Barbados since assuming her current role in January, according to the Venezuelan government, and her second international trip following a visit to Grenada earlier in April.
