Trump claims 'best first year,' tells Davos investors US 'doing really well'

U.S. president Donald Trump told business leaders at Davos on Wednesday (January 21) the United States was "doing really well" and that his first year in office during his second term has been "maybe the best first year for any president."

Trump praised Apple CEO Tim Cook, after spotting him in the audience, referring to the company's pledge to invest over 600 billion US dollars in the U.S. over the next few years.

Addressing leaders on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, Trump said his Davos speech earlier that day had received "great reviews."
