Asian shares rallied on Thursday (March 5) with a decline in U.S. Treasuries pointing to a tentative recovery in risk appetite that has been hammered by the escalating war in the Middle East.

In South Korea, the benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) opened up 157.38 points, or 3.09%, at 5,250.92.


In Tokyo, the Nikkei surged over 4% after trading opened on Thursday (March 5).


In Taiwan, the Taiwan Stock Exchange Capitalization Weighted Stock Index (TAIEX) opened up 791.86 points, or 2.41% at 33,620.74.
