China and the EU have resumed talks on a minimum price plan for China-made electric vehicles, aiming to ease trade tensions after the EU’s tariff hike last October. China urges the bloc to negotiate collectively rather than individually with producers.
China's commerce ministry said on Thursday negotiations with the European Union over a minimum price plan for China-made electric vehicles have restarted and would continue into next week, while urging the bloc not to talk independently with producers.
The EU increased tariffs on Chinese-built EVs to as much as 45.3% last October, but Brussels and Beijing have floated the idea of lifting the tariffs through possible commitments to minimum prices for imported cars.
