China and Germany should develop their cooperation in automotive and chemical industries, and expand their partnership in emerging sectors including artificial intelligence and biopharmaceuticals, Chinese Premier Li Qiang said on Wednesday.
China is willing to step up policy communication and coordination with Germany, Li told German Chancellor Friedrich Merz during a meeting in Beijing, Chinese state media reported.
The two countries should support universities, research institutions and enterprises to strengthen cooperation in joint research and development, Li added.
