Belgium air traffic resumes after air control strike ends

Traffic at Belgian airports resumed on Wednesday morning after a strike of local air traffic controllers ended though the backlog caused congestion, Brussels International Airport said on its website.

• Labour unions and air traffic control operator Skeyes reached an agreement to resume talks, a spokesperson for Skeyes said.

• The strike lasted from Monday, 9 p.m. local time, until Tuesday, 9 p.m., the spokesperson said.

• The dispute was related to arrangements for a planned "digital air control tower".

• The country's main airports in Brussels, Charleroi and Liege were disrupted.
