The United Nations is demanding the immediate and unconditional release of 73 staff members arbitrarily detained by Houthi rebels in Yemen—some for years. UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric confirmed that intensified diplomatic efforts in Oman have so far failed to free the personnel. The Houthis claim the detentions are security-related, but the UN warns the crisis is hurting millions of Yemenis who depend on humanitarian aid.
