UN calls on Houthis to stop attacking Saudi tankers

The United Nations has expressed alarm over renewed Houthi attacks on commercial shipping in the Red Sea after the group claimed strikes on two Saudi oil tankers. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned the attacks could deepen the regional conflict, threaten global trade and energy supplies, and undermine ongoing peace efforts in Yemen. He called for an immediate de-escalation and the restoration of safe passage through the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
