Private group continues whale rescue

A private rescue group in Germany is pushing ahead with efforts to free a stranded humpback whale nicknamed "Timmy." The juvenile whale has been stuck on a sandbank near the Island of Poel since March 31. Despite earlier expert doubts about his survival chances, new veterinary assessments show improved health, giving the team hope. Rescuers are using nets, air cushions, and saltwater-soaked towels to protect his damaged skin as they prepare for a final push to safety.
