Oyster shells find second life restoring New York harbor reefs

Volunteers in New York Harbor are giving oysters a helping hand. On Governors Island, corporate volunteers joined the Billion Oyster Project in sorting and preparing recycled shells for reef restoration part of a citywide effort to restore marine biodiversity and strengthen coastal resilience.
