Greece's Crete island covered in orange African dust

A massive plume of Saharan dust swept across the Mediterranean to Greece, turning the skies over Heraklion into a hazy, apocalyptic orange. The phenomenon, caused by strong winds pushing desert sand north, forced flight diversions due to low visibility. Watch drone footage of the island submerged in African dust.
