Germany marks 65th year since construction of Berlin Wall

Germany marks 65 years since the Berlin Wall was built on August 13, 1961, with an installation and open-air exhibition near the Brandenburg Gate. The Wall divided Berlin for 28 years, separating families and preventing East Germans from freely leaving for the West. At least 136 people were killed attempting to cross before the Wall fell in 1989.
