D-Day beaches in Normandy, France added to UNESCO World Heritage List

The Normandy D-Day landing beaches in northern France, where more than 156,000 Allied troops launched the June 6, 1944 invasion that helped liberate Europe from Nazi Germany during World War II, have been inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List.
