Colossal T. rex 'Gus' roars to auction with $30 million estimate

A colossal T. rex fossil nicknamed "Gus" is set to go under the hammer at Sotheby's in New York with a pre-sale estimate of $20 million to $30 million. Measuring nearly 38 feet long and dating back around 67 million years, the remarkably preserved skeleton is among the largest and most complete Tyrannosaurus rex specimens ever discovered. The auction is part of Sotheby's Geek Week 2026.
