Colombia earthquake death toll now over 310, president says

Colombia’s President Abelardo De La Espriella said Wednesday (August 19) that 314 people have died after a powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck the country’s southwest and central regions more than a week ago. More than 4,400 people were injured and over 262,000 affected, as the government prepares an Economic Emergency declaration to fund relief and reconstruction.
