Wimbledon's quarterfinal action continues on Wednesday with a lineup featuring top contenders and rising stars battling for places in the semifinals at the All England Club.

The marquee men's match pits sixth-seeded American Taylor Fritz against second-seeded Alexander Zverev of Germany. Fritz reached the last eight after a straight-sets victory over Alexander Bublik and is back in top form on grass following an injury-interrupted clay season. The American, who reached the Wimbledon semifinals last year, is seeking his first Grand Slam title and holds a 10-5 career advantage over Zverev, including victories in their last seven meetings.

Zverev, the reigning French Open champion, advanced to his first Wimbledon quarterfinal after defeating Jiri Lehecka in four sets. The German will look to end Fritz's recent dominance and continue his strongest Wimbledon campaign to date.

In the women's draw, Ukraine's Marta Kostyuk takes on Italy's Jasmine Paolini in a battle for a spot in the semifinals. Kostyuk reached her first Wimbledon quarterfinal with a straight-sets win over Ashlyn Krueger and has impressed with her improved serving and aggressive play throughout the tournament.

Paolini, last year's Wimbledon runner-up, booked her place in the quarterfinals after defeating Alexandra Eala in three sets. The Italian has been one of the tournament's most consistent performers, serving efficiently while creating multiple break-point opportunities in every match.

Meanwhile, British wildcard Arthur Fery will attempt to extend his remarkable Wimbledon run against ninth-seeded Italian Flavio Cobolli. Fery became the fifth men's wildcard in the Open Era to reach the Wimbledon quarterfinals after a five-set victory over Grigor Dimitrov and is now the last British player remaining in the singles competition.

Cobolli enters the match in outstanding form after reaching the French Open final earlier this year and advancing to the Wimbledon quarterfinals with a straight-sets win over Alex de Minaur. Although Fery owns a previous victory over the Italian, Cobolli arrives as one of the tournament's hottest players.

Also in action, ninth-seeded Linda Noskova of the Czech Republic faces Belgium's Elise Mertens in the opening match on Court No. 1.

Play begins at 12:30 GMT on Centre Court with the Kostyuk-Paolini match, followed by Cobolli against Fery. Action on Court No. 1 starts at 12:00 GMT with Noskova versus Mertens before Fritz takes on Zverev in the day's featured men's quarterfinal. -Reporting by Karan Prashant Saxena in Bengaluru/Reuters
