World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka arrives in Brisbane to begin preparations for the Australian Open, aiming to defend her Brisbane International title ahead of the January 18 Grand Slam.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka arrived in Brisbane on Tuesday (December 30) to begin preparations for next month’s Australian Open.


The four-time Grand Slam champion was recently defeated 6‑3, 6‑3 by Nick Kyrgios in a “Battle of the Sexes” exhibition match.


Sabalenka, 27, is set to compete in the Brisbane International, where she is the defending champion.


The Australian Open is scheduled to start on January 18 in Melbourne. Sabalenka claimed the season-opening Grand Slam titles in both 2023 and 2024.
