Kenji Mboma Dem scored twice as FC Cincinnati overwhelmed visiting O&M FC 9-0 on Wednesday, completing a 13-0 aggregate victory in their first-round CONCACAF Champions Cup series.

Cincinnati had previously won 4-0 in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, on Feb. 18. The Orange and Blue will now face Mexico's Tigres UANL in the Round of 16.

Mboma Dem opened the scoring in the 18th minute, receiving a precise pass from Obinna Nwobodo and finishing with a right-footed shot from eight yards out past O&M goalkeeper Iraitz Gelbentzu.

By halftime, Cincinnati led 4-0, thanks to goals from Gerardo Valenzuela (27th minute) and Tom Barlow (35th), plus an own goal by O&M’s Gabriel Castillo. The scoring continued in the second half with Ademar Chavez (48th), Mboma Dem (58th), Stiven Jimenez (68th), Alvas Powell (78th), and Stefan Chirila (86th).

The visitors’ struggles worsened when second-half substitute Hector Ramirez received a straight red card in the 82nd minute for a reckless tackle.

Vancouver Whitecaps 2, CS Cartagines 0

Second-half goals from Kenji Cabrera and Sebastian Berhalter propelled host Vancouver Whitecaps to a 2-0 aggregate victory over CS Cartagines. The first leg in Cartago, Costa Rica, on Feb. 18 ended in a scoreless draw. Vancouver will meet rivals Seattle Sounders in the Round of 16.

Cabrera broke the deadlock in the 58th minute, finishing a flick from teammate Tristan Blackmon off Berhalter’s corner kick with a right-footed strike from the six-yard box. Berhalter sealed the win in the 80th minute, following up on a blocked shot and converting the rebound from 12 yards out.

LA Galaxy 0, Sporting San Miguelito 0

A scoreless draw in Carson, California, allowed LA Galaxy to advance to the Round of 16 on the away-goals tiebreaker after a 1-1 aggregate tie with Sporting San Miguelito. The Galaxy will face Jamaica’s Mount Pleasant in the next round.

Joseph Paintsil’s 68th-minute goal in the first leg on Feb. 19 in Llano Marin, Panama, proved decisive, offsetting Rodrigo Tello’s first-half goal for Sporting San Miguelito.

Goalkeeper Jose Calderon of Sporting made three saves on Wednesday, while Galaxy’s JT Marcinkowski did not have to make a stop. The Galaxy finished with 10 men after Matheus Nascimento received a red card in stoppage time.
