SOCCER: Barcelona seal 29th LaLiga title with 2-0 Clasico win over Real Madrid

FC Barcelona secured their 29th LaLiga title on Sunday after a 2-0 victory over archrivals Real Madrid, sealing the championship with an unassailable 14-point lead at the top of the table with three matches remaining.

Real Madrid needed a win at Camp Nou to keep the title race alive but fell behind early, conceding in the ninth minute when Marcus Rashford curled a brilliant free kick into the top corner, giving Barcelona an early advantage in the decisive clash.

The hosts doubled their lead in the 18th minute through Ferran Torres, who finished off a well-worked attacking move involving Fermin Lopez and Dani Olmo with a powerful strike inside the box, further tightening Barcelona’s grip on the match and the title.

Under head coach Hansi Flick, Barcelona moved to 91 points following the win, while Real Madrid remained on 77 points. Villarreal CF sit third with 69 points.
