Patrick Mahomes' father arrested on probation violation - reports

Patrick Mahomes Sr., father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, was arrested on a probation violation, multiple reports confirmed.

The 55-year-old Mahomes Sr. was booked into Smith County Jail in Tyler, Texas, on Tuesday. This comes two years after he was arrested on a DWI charge, to which he later pleaded guilty. At that time, he was sentenced to five years of probation.

A former professional baseball pitcher, Mahomes Sr. played 11 seasons in the major leagues, including five with the Minnesota Twins. He has a history of multiple DWI arrests.

This week’s arrest occurred during a meeting with his probation officer. Reports indicate that violating probation could carry a potential jail sentence of up to 10 years.
