Italian biathlete Rebecca Passler has tested positive for a banned substance four days before the start of the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics, a source with knowledge of the matter told Reuters on Monday.
Italian media also reported the positive test by the athlete.
Reuters contacted the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI), with officials saying they had seen the reports but had not received official confirmation of a positive test regarding Passler.
The 24-year-old Passler, whose best result was placing 11th in the women's 4x6km relay at the 2024 IBU World Championships, could face disqualification from her home Olympics.
