Ryan Strome scored the game-winning goal in overtime, lifting the host Calgary Flames to a 4-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday.

Victor Olofsson, Morgan Frost, and Mikael Backlund also found the back of the net for the Flames (29-34-7, 65 points), who have now won three straight games. Goaltender Devin Cooley made 32 saves in an outstanding performance.

Strome became the hero just 26 seconds into overtime, tapping in a pass from rookie Matvei Gridin, who held off a check to set up the play. With the win, Calgary extends its streak to 54 consecutive games scoring four or more goals, the fourth-longest streak in NHL history.

For the Lightning (43-21-5, 91 points), Ryan McDonagh, Darren Raddysh, and Pontus Holmberg scored, but their three-game winning streak was snapped in the final game of their four-game road trip. Goalie Jonas Johansson stopped 25 shots in a match that saw both teams take and then surrender leads.

McDonagh opened the scoring at 7:25 of the first period with a point shot that deflected off a defender. The Flames quickly responded with three straight goals, the first two coming just 27 seconds apart. Olofsson tied the game at 16:25 with a top-shelf shot from the right circle, marking his second goal in as many games. Frost immediately put Calgary ahead with a rush goal, his third in four outings, followed by Backlund blasting another shot into the top corner at 8:28 of the second period to make it 3-1.

The Lightning fought back in the third. Raddysh’s slap shot from the point cut the deficit to one goal, and Holmberg tied it at 15:40, finishing from the slot after a Calgary turnover set up by Yanni Gourde.

The Lightning, second in the Atlantic Division, return home for a seven-game homestand.
