Tyrese Maxey scored 39 points as the Philadelphia 76ers snapped a four-game losing streak with a 135-108 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday in Minneapolis.

VJ Edgecombe added 24 points, Quentin Grimes contributed 19, and Kelly Oubre Jr. chipped in 18 for Philadelphia. The Sixers shot 21 of 37 from beyond the arc, with Edgecombe (6 of 7), Grimes (5 of 8), Maxey (4 of 7), and Oubre (3 of 7) leading the way.

Anthony Edwards led Minnesota with 28 points, ending the Timberwolves’ three-game winning streak. Jaden McDaniels added 19 points, while Julius Randle scored 18. The hosts were outscored in every quarter.

Edwards opened Minnesota's scoring with a dunk following a steal off Maxey. His first three-pointer gave the Wolves an early 8-1 lead. Philadelphia regained the edge and closed the first quarter on a 10-2 run to lead 35-26. Edgecombe paced the Sixers, going 7 of 13 from deep in the quarter, capitalizing on Minnesota’s lax perimeter defense.

Philadelphia extended its lead to 48-32 after Cameron Payne’s steal and three-pointer, but the Timberwolves cut the gap to 68-58 at halftime. Maxey and Edwards each had 19 points at the break.

Early in the third quarter, Minnesota trimmed Philadelphia’s lead to 71-64 before Maxey took control. He scored 13 points as the 76ers outscored the Wolves 26-20 for the quarter, moving ahead 94-78. Edwards was limited to four points in the period, with Minnesota shooting 5 of 18 from the floor and 1 of 10 from three-point range while committing six turnovers.

A spectacular Grimes-to-Edgecombe alley-oop dunk opened the fourth quarter, followed by a pair of contested three-pointers, swelling the Sixers’ lead to 102-80. Minnesota responded with a 10-2 run to cut the deficit to 104-90 before Philadelphia called timeout and surged ahead again. Maxey hit a floater and then stole the ball from Edwards for an easy layup.

The Sixers, who led by as many as 29 points, stayed hot down the stretch, hitting 7 of 9 from beyond the arc in the fourth quarter as the margin continued to grow.
