Washington Wizards point guard Trae Young is moving closer to his debut with the team after the club announced Thursday that he is ramping up on-court activities.

Young has been sidelined with right knee and quadriceps injuries. The Wizards said he will be re-evaluated in one week.

Forward Anthony Davis, who has also yet to make his Wizards debut, received an update as well. Davis is recovering from ligament damage in his left hand. He is making progress but has not yet been cleared for basketball activities and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Young was acquired from the Atlanta Hawks on January 7 in exchange for veteran guard CJ McCollum and forward Corey Kispert.

A four-time All-Star, Young played in just 10 games this season for Atlanta, averaging 19.3 points and 8.9 assists while shooting 41.5% from the field and 30.5% from three-point range.

Last season, Young led the league with 11.6 assists per game. Over eight seasons and 493 games—all starts—he has averaged 25.2 points, 9.8 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game.

Davis was traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Wizards on February 4. Speculation remains high that he may not return this season.

The 33-year-old Davis appeared in 20 games this season with Dallas, averaging 20.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.7 blocks per game. Across 14 seasons and 807 games (800 starts) with the New Orleans Hornets/Pelicans, Los Angeles Lakers, and Mavericks, he has career averages of 24.0 points and 10.7 rebounds.

A 10-time All-Star, Davis was part of the trade last February that sent Dallas star Luka Doncic to the Lakers. Following his arrival in Dallas, Davis played only nine games due to injuries.
