The NBA has suspended Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks for one game without pay following his 16th technical foul of the season.

Under league rules, a player or coach is automatically suspended for one game without pay after reaching 16 technical fouls in the regular season. Every additional two technical fouls during the same season triggers another one-game suspension.

Brooks, 30, received a personal foul followed by a technical foul with 6:37 remaining in the second quarter of Phoenix’s 136-109 home loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday.

He will serve the suspension after the All-Star break on Feb. 19, when the Suns visit the San Antonio Spurs. Brooks has previously served one-game suspensions in May 2022, February 2023, March 2023 (twice), and April 2025.

This is Brooks’ first season with Phoenix. He is averaging career highs of 21.2 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, along with 1.8 assists, 1.1 steals, and 31.1 minutes over 49 games, all starts.

Over his NBA career, Brooks has averaged 14.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 29.6 minutes in 541 regular-season games (514 starts) with the Memphis Grizzlies (2017–23), Houston Rockets (2023–25), and the Suns. He was named to the All-NBA Defensive Second Team with Memphis in 2022–23.

Brooks was selected by the Houston Rockets in the second round of the 2017 NBA Draft out of Oregon and traded the same day to Memphis for a second-round pick that became guard De’Anthony Melton.
