NBA: Stephen Curry commits to 2027 All-Star 3-point contest
Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry announced he will compete in the 2027 NBA All-Star 3-point contest in Phoenix, aiming for a third title after victories in 2015 and 2021. At 37, Curry continues to chase records despite sitting out Sunday’s All-Star Game with a knee injury.

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry confirmed Sunday that he will compete in the 3-point shooting contest during the 2027 All-Star Weekend in Phoenix.
Curry made the announcement on the NBC television set prior to Sunday’s All-Star Game in Inglewood, California. During his appearance, he lofted a shot from about 40 feet—slightly behind the baseline and to the right of the hoop—which swished cleanly through the net.
"One hundred percent," Curry said when asked about competing in Phoenix. "I already scheduled it."
The 37-year-old Curry is a two-time 3-point contest champion, having won the event in 2015 and 2021. He said he also plans to try to convince former teammate Klay Thompson, now with the Dallas Mavericks, to join the competition.
Curry holds the NBA record for most 3-pointers in both the regular season (4,233) and postseason (650). He did not play in Sunday’s All-Star Game due to a knee injury.
Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers won Saturday’s 3-point contest, joining Larry Bird (1986–88) and Craig Hodges (1990–92) as three-time winners. Lillard, who has not played since tearing his Achilles on April 27, also won the event in 2023 and 2024.
