LeBron James became the oldest player in NBA history to record a triple-double, leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a 124-104 victory over the visiting Dallas Mavericks on Thursday, heading into the All-Star break.
The 41-year-old James scored 28 points, handed out 12 assists, and grabbed 10 rebounds, marking his first triple-double in 36 games this season. Rui Hachimura contributed 21 points, Austin Reaves added 18 off the bench, and Jaxson Hayes finished with 16 points. The Lakers were without All-Star Luka Doncic (hamstring) for the fourth straight game.
Deandre Ayton (knee) also missed a second consecutive game, but Los Angeles snapped a two-game losing streak and improved to 3-0 against Dallas this season.
For the Mavericks, Naji Marshall and Max Christie each scored 19 points. The team suffered its ninth straight loss, the longest skid since double-digit losing streaks in the 1997-98 season. Rookie Cooper Flagg sat out the game and will miss Friday’s Rising Stars contest during All-Star Weekend.
Trail Blazers 135, Jazz 119
Jrue Holiday led Portland with a season-best 31 points, along with nine rebounds and seven assists, to guide the Trail Blazers past Utah in Salt Lake City. Donovan Clingan added 23 points, 18 rebounds, and seven assists as Portland won for the fourth time in five games.
For the Jazz, Brice Sensabaugh made five 3-pointers and scored 28 points. Kyle Filipowski added 15 points, nine rebounds, and a career-high six steals. Utah has lost 13 of its past 17 games.
Bucks 110, Thunder 93
Ousmane Dieng posted a season-high 19 points and 11 rebounds for his first career double-double, helping Milwaukee secure a road win over Oklahoma City. AJ Green contributed 17 points as seven Bucks players scored in double figures.
The Thunder, missing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, and sixth man Ajay Mitchell, struggled offensively. Isaiah Joe led Oklahoma City with 17 points, while Chet Holmgren added 16 points and 13 rebounds. Dieng faced the Thunder for the first time since being traded last week in a multi-team deal.
