A day after he was expected to be available for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, OG Anunoby of the New York Knicks was ruled out of Sunday’s contest due to a right hamstring strain.
“He’s out for tonight, but it’s the same thing—he’s day-to-day moving forward,” Knicks head coach Mike Brown said Sunday.
New York holds a 3-0 lead in its series against the Philadelphia 76ers, giving the team added flexibility to manage Anunoby’s recovery cautiously.
Anunoby also missed Game 3, when the Knicks secured a 108-94 win on the road in Philadelphia. Game 4 is scheduled to be played in Philadelphia as well.
The 28-year-old has been a key contributor this postseason, averaging 21.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.1 blocks over eight playoff games. He has also shot 53.8 percent from three-point range and 61.9 percent from the field overall.
