The Boston Celtics continued their strong run with a convincing 120-99 victory over the visiting Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night, powered by a standout performance from Jaylen Brown.
Brown led all scorers with 32 points while adding six rebounds and five assists, guiding Boston to its third straight win. In the process, he made franchise history by surpassing both Jo Jo White and Dave Cowens to move into 10th place on the Celtics’ all-time scoring list.
Jayson Tatum delivered another solid all-around performance, finishing with 24 points and 10 rebounds, including five 3-pointers on 11 attempts. Payton Pritchard also made a significant contribution off the bench with 19 points as Boston’s offense proved too much for Golden State to contain.
For the Warriors, Pat Spencer and Gary Payton II each scored a team-high 14 points off the bench. Draymond Green and Gui Santos chipped in 13 points apiece, along with five rebounds each, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Golden State from dropping its sixth game in the last seven contests.
Kristaps Porzingis added 11 points against his former team. After making his Golden State debut on Feb. 19, this marked his first game back in Boston since being traded following the 2025 season. Porzingis was a key contributor to the Celtics’ 2024 championship run.
The Warriors once again played without Stephen Curry, who missed his 19th consecutive game due to a knee injury. Golden State has struggled in his absence, posting a 6-13 record during that span.
Boston set the tone early, jumping out to a double-digit lead in the first quarter behind Brown’s explosive scoring. He poured in 19 points in the opening period alone, helping the Celtics build a 36-23 advantage by the end of the quarter.
The Celtics maintained control in the second quarter, extending their lead to as many as 20 points. Brown’s free throws midway through the period not only pushed the score to 52-34 but also secured his place in the franchise’s top 10 scorers. Boston carried a 63-50 lead into halftime.
Golden State briefly trimmed the deficit to single digits early in the third quarter, but Boston quickly regained control and led 89-73 heading into the final period.
The Celtics put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter, highlighted by an 8-0 run capped by a Pritchard layup that extended the lead to 114-88 — their largest of the night.
With the win, Boston continues to build momentum, while Golden State’s struggles deepen as they await the return of their injured star. -Field Level Media/Reuters
