NBA: By mistake, Miami Heat post video teasing possible LeBron James return

The Miami Heat mistakenly uploaded a YouTube video teasing LeBron James' potential return to the team, a spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday, fueling speculation as the 41-year-old NBA star weighs his options for his 24th season.

A livestream titled "LeBron James Introductory Press Conference" scheduled for July 27 appeared on the Heat's YouTube channel on Tuesday night before it was later removed. The post sparked speculation among fans that James could be returning to Miami, where he won two NBA championships during his four-year stint with the team from 2010 to 2014.

A Heat spokesperson confirmed to Reuters that the video was accidentally posted while the team prepared for the possibility of James signing with Miami.

James announced last month that he would leave the Los Angeles Lakers, turning his next destination into one of the biggest storylines of the NBA offseason. The Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers and Heat have reportedly emerged as potential destinations for the future Hall of Famer.

Interest in James' decision has also extended to the betting market, with BetOnline Sports & Casino accepting wagers on when he will announce his next move. July 24 is currently among the dates drawing the most attention, while Miami has emerged as the favored destination.

James' longtime friend and agent, Rich Paul, said earlier this week that the veteran forward will not be pressured into making a decision.

"We're not going to be rushed," Paul said on the "Game Over with Max Kellerman and Rich Paul" podcast released on Monday. "It's his choice to make and when he makes the choice, he'll make it."

James spent four seasons with the Heat from 2010 to 2014, winning back-to-back NBA titles in 2012 and 2013 alongside Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh before returning to Cleveland in 2014. He joined the Lakers in 2018 and helped the franchise win the 2020 NBA championship.
